In 2024, I won Illustrators of the Future with the three art pieces below. Part of the conditions of this win included completing an illustration based off of a winning short story. The piece I created over the course of a month is an illustration for Seth Atwater Jr's A World of Repetitions. The world is caught in a time-loop and everything resets every 34 hours. What can possibly sustain us when progress and accomplishment are nolonger possible?
I illustrated this piece under the oversight of Art director and WOTF coordinating judge Echo Chernik.Â
Below you'll find images of my process step by step including some of my interactions with my art director.
This piece is watercolor on illustration board with some ink to create the black clock frame and a digital correction to add another clock hand. I also made minor corrections with acrylic and white ink to speed the process and improve the final outcome. I am capable with multiple mediums including digital which helps speed delivery on traditional pieces.
